1. James Ennis

All signs seemed to be pointing to the Los Angeles Lakers signing James Ennis during the offseason. The Lakers were reportedly interested in the forward, who was cryptically liking every tweet that tied him to the Los Angeles Lakers.

However, more time went on and the Lakers made more signings and before you know it there was no space for Ennis. The team has not brought him in on a training camp deal and he is surprisingly still a free agent.

While Ennis is not someone who is going to change the direction of the franchise he is a talented two-way wing that can defend, shoot and is fairly athletic. The Lakers do not even need him to do much but the potential of him being a bench perimeter defender while being someone who can shoot off-ball or score in transition is appealing.

While Ariza is more accomplished in the league, you could make the case that Ennis would be the better fit for the team when Ariza came back. He certainly would have to prove it, but at his age, it would not be surprising if Ariza was not the same player when he comes back from the injury.

Ennis is the better of the two options and all signs have been pointing towards him all season. However, in a time of emergency, the Lakers may instead turn to someone with who they are familiar with.
