Will the Lakers Big Three live up to the hype in their first appearance?
It’s finally about to happen. LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook are expected to take the court tonight together for the first time. The Los Angeles Lakers acquired Westbrook during the offseason from the Washington Wizards and a little over two months later, the Big Three are going to make their debut.
Once again, it’s just the preseason, but that doesn’t make it any less exciting. The regular season is right around the corner and while the trio isn’t going to assert their maximum effort at this point in the year, it’ll still be the coveted first look. There’s been a lot of speculation that Westbrook won’t fit in with James and Davis, but tonight will either help to dissipate or solidify those thoughts.
Tuesday also marks the first time LeBron will play after sitting out in the first four preseason games. Him and Westbrook sharing a court together is definitely interesting, but it won’t come to a full culmination tonight. Still, the new-look Lakers are making their long-awaited appearance in the hopes of snagging the team’s first victory of the year.
Regardless of how little preseason games mean, Los Angeles is going to make a huge splash tonight. The hot takes, either largely positive or negative, will be flowing. How in the world can LeBron and Russell share the ball on offense? What kind of role will Anthony play? Hang on, we’re about to catch a glimpse.
