would look this season we now have a decent sample size to evaluate the roster that Rob Pelinka put together. The Lakers are nine games into the 2021-22 season, putting them at just over 10% through the year.

While it is way too soon to make any declarative statements about how the entire season might go, there is definitely enough of a sample size to evaluate where the team is strong and where the team has weaknesses.

The start of the season has not been totally kind to the Lakers, who have a 5-4 record despite having one of the easiest schedules thus far. To be fair to LA, though, the team is already banged up as LeBron James has missed time and the rotation is down multiple players.

These injuries have given certain players a chance to succeed while showcasing some of the holes on the roster. If one thing is for certain, we know that the Lakers will be aggressive during the year to improve the team. It is title or bust.

The Lakers can’t really pull off any meaningful trades, so that won’t be an avenue. Instead, the Lakers are going to have to utilize the buyout market.

There are particular players that would help the Los Angeles Lakers if bought out.

Not only do we know more about the Lakers but we also know more about the rest of the NBA. It isn’t too soon to start formulating a potential buyout list. The Lakers certainly should have a list of players who they hope get bought out.

Here are those players.
