Sacramento Kings: Justin Holiday

Justin Holiday will be on an expiring contract that pays him $6.2 million next season and he is exactly the type of role player that the Los Angeles Lakers should be looking for. Holiday is a true three and D wing and would give the Lakers someone who can hit shots but can also defend.

The Lakers have the guys who can hit shots this season but none of them can defend on the perimeter. Holiday is not someone who is going to lock down an opposing star but he has the defensive ability (as well as his size and length) to be a much better defensive player than anyone in the Lakers backcourt right now.

Holiday is one of the more overlooked role players in the league and the reason being is that he has not played on a contender in quite some time. He appeared in five playoff games in 2015 and won a ring with the Golden State Warriors but since then his only playoff berth was in 2020 in a four-game sweep with Indiana.

If Holiday would have been on the Lakers during the 2020 bubble he not only would have fit in perfectly but his stock would have risen as a result. Because of this, the Lakers might be able to get him at a great price.

There are two ways the Lakers could get Holiday. They could either package Nunn with a second-round pick and hope that Sacramento sells themselves on Nunn coming back and playing well. Or, the team could trade THT for a package of Holiday, Maurice Harkless and a second-round pick (or two).
