The Los Angeles Lakers must address the team structure

The organization has struggled to find a clear direction ever since Kobe Bryant suffered his Achilles injury nearly ten years ago now.

They have gone back and forth between win now and rebuild, but have seemingly settled on win now, but seem to have conflicting ideologies on how to do so.

It’s almost as if the Lakers have more than one hand on the wheel, which is likely with Jeanie Buss, Rob Pelinka, and LeBron James all with the organization and all wanting a say in how the team is run.

It would be nice to see the team address this issue at Media Day and establish one person as the face of the front office, whether that be James, Buss, or Pelinka, they just need to choose one to have the final say in every roster-based decision.

This would bring clarity and consistency to a team that goes through its fair share of turmoil on what seems to be a daily basis.

The Los Angeles Lakers seemed to have an issue with who served what role on the roster last season.

The Lakers struggled at times last season partly due to confusion over who should close out games, this may be a personnel issue, it could have been a coaching issue, either way, it needs to be fixed.

Addressing this could be shown in the form of new head coach Darvin Ham going all in on LeBron James leading the team or by him sitting certain players during crunch time.

They could even address it by defining what style of play they will be trying to use next season; they have the tools to use many different play types, clearing this up may be extremely beneficial to the team.

This will come with criticism from some fans, but it needs to be done.
