The Los Angeles Lakers put together their most impressive win of the season on Sunday as they thoroughly beat the San Antonio Spurs, 123-93. Anthony Davis looked like the Disney World version of himself and for the first time all season, fans are feeling some sense of hope.

This was the team’s third-consecutive win and with the schedule easing up and players returning from injury, the Lakers might be able to put together a good stretch that at least propels them back into relevancy.

Not only did the team pick up a huge win over the Spurs that seemingly gives them some momentum but Russell Westbrook also got some long-awaited revenge on Spurs rookie Jeremy Sochan. Over the summer, Sochan (intentionally or not) roasted Westbrook and his inability to hit three-pointers.

Fast forward to Sunday night and Westbrook so happened to miss a pass to Lonnie Walker IV that went straight off of Sochan’s face. Intentional or unintentional? You can be the judge of that.

If this was intentional by Westbrook, it was masterfully disguised. Walker was making a cut to the basket and Russ went for the no-look pass, giving him the perfect excuse for this to be accidental. While we are talking about bricks, we have to acknowledge how painful this must have been to Sochan’s face.

Jeremy Sochan has been putting up a lot more bricks than Russell Westbrook has for the Lakers.

While just about every Lakers fan wanted Russell Westbrook traded in the offseason, he has not been the problem this year. The Lakers have smartly given him a smaller roll off the bench and if they can continue using his energy is smaller bursts then good things are going to happen.

Westbrook has been solid this year. He has not been worth $47.1 million but he has been far better in his new role. The same cannot be said for the rookie in Sochan, who has understandably dealt with obvious rookie struggles that happen early in an NBA career.

What is most ironic is the three-point percentages of both men. Westbrook is shooting 33.3% in 4.3 three per game. This is not good, but it is better than what he was at last season. Meanwhile, Sochan is shooting an abysmal 15.4% on 2.1 attempts per game.

Making it even more ironic is the fact that Sochan has never been a good three-point shooter. Three-point shooting was not his strong suit coming into the league as he shot 29.6% from three last season with Baylor. That was worse than what Westbrook shot last season with the Lakers!

If there is anyone that knows a thing or two about putting up bricks from beyond the arc, it is Jeremy Sochan. Russell Westbrook didn’t need to get revenge and it very well might have been accidental. But if it wasn’t, Lakers fans certainly can’t blame him.
