The Los Angeles Lakers have been rolling as of late and have given new hope to fans who were frustrated with a slow start. After a 2-10 start to the year, the Lakers have won eight of the last 10 games including a huge win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

This is not the same Lakers team that fans had to watch at the beginning of the season and leading the way has been Anthony Davis. Davis has been nothing short of incredible over the last 10 games. AD literally put together a historic game against the Washington Wizards in the Lakers’ last outing.

Next on the docket is the Cleveland Cavaliers. Tuesday’s matchup against the Cavaliers is a must-watch with LeBron James coming home. But is he going to be able to play after re-aggravating an ankle injury in Sunday’s game?

Lakers news roundup ahead of Tuesday’s game vs Cavaliers

  • LeBron James was listed as questionable ahead of Sunday’s game against the Wizards but ultimately suited up and played. However, LeBron said after the game that he did tweak his injured ankle in a tie-up with former Laker Kyle Kuzma. LeBron said he will “be ready to play” against the Cavaliers.
  • Both LeBron James and Anthony Davis were listed as probable on the injury report for Tuesday night’s game. Wenyen Gabriel and Jarrett Allen were listed as questionable.
  • Anthony Davis was rewarded for his great play of late and was named the Western Conference Player of the Week. If he continues playing at this level he should be a lock for the December Western Conference Player of the Month.
  • The Lakers sent rookie guard Max Christie down to the South Bay Lakers following Sunday’s game. This is not the first time Christie has been sent down and with the Lakers on the road, he should play in some games. He has played 57 G League minutes this season. South Bay plays on Tuesday and Friday this week.
  • Pau Gasol was every single one of us after watching AD dominate the Washington Wizards on Sunday, sending out his most relatable tweet yet.

News from around the NBA:

  • Bradley Beal will be re-evaluated in a week for the hamstring injury that he suffered against the Lakers.
  • Nike officially terminates its partnership with Kyrie Irving after initially suspending the partnership last month.
  • Klay Thompson passes Dirk Nowitzki for 14th on the all-time three-point leaderboard with his 1,983rd three on Monday night.
  • Kawhi Leonard returns to play just his sixth game of the season. He scored 16 points with six rebounds in a season-high 28 minutes against the Hornets.

Hopefully, the Lakers can snag another big win against the Cleveland Cavaliers and start stacking together some promising performances. If so, NBA fans are going to have to take them seriously.
