After a few days off, the Los Angeles Lakers are kicking off their annual Grammays road trip on Saturday with a primetime showcase against the rivaled Boston Celtics. This is the second time the two teams have squared off this season with the Celtics escaping Los Angeles with an overtime victory back in December.
That game was right before Anthony Davis suffered a foot injury and it has come full circle with Davis returning right before the second Boston matchup. That being said, Los Angeles could be without its other star player, LeBron James.
LeBron’s status is always a topic of discussion in year 20 with Lakers fans always looking for answers. Here is everything you need to know thus far.
LeBron James injury status tonight vs Celtics
LeBron James was added to the injury report with left ankle soreness and has been listed as questionable for Saturday’s game. LeBron has entered the injury report with a questionable diagnosis multiple times this season, so this is nothing new for Lakers fans.
LeBron has played eight games in a row since the last time he sat out to rest on January 9 against the Denver Nuggets.
For what it’s worth, the Lakers are playing five road games in the next eight days. If LeBron wants to line up him breaking the scoring record with the team being at home, he may need to sit out a game or two.
Lakers injury report vs Celtics
LeBron James is not the only player on the injury report for the Los Angeles Lakers. Anthony Davis is still on the list because of his foot injury but is listed as probable and is expected to play. Austin Reaves is still nursing a hamstring injury and has officially been declared as out.
Los Angeles may get additional reinforcements in the likes of Lonnie Walker IV. Walker has been out for weeks with a knee injury and has been upgraded to questionable for the game. Walker will test his knee in pre-game workouts to decide if he will play.
Celtics injury report vs Lakers
Marcus Smart is the lone player on the injury report for the Celtics. Smart reaggravated an ankle injury last Saturday and does not have a set timeline to return. He will be out against the Lakers.
