Lakers’ LeBron James sets internet ablaze with NSFW slip-up after breaking scoring record

LeBron James made history on Tuesday night. Needing 36 points to break Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time scoring record, LeBron went out and scored 36 before the end of the third quarter to become the greatest scorer in NBA history.

A moment so monumental deserved a pause in the action between the Los Angeles Lakers and Oklahoma City Thunder. LeBron received a touching video tribute as well as a nice moment with Kareem and commissioner Adam Silver.

Then LeBron was given the chance to speak in front of the crowd and the millions of NBA fans watching around the world. It was a truly touching speech by LeBron, except for the part where he ripped off an NSFW expletive that did not get caught by the TNT broadcast.

NBA Twitter had a field day with LeBron James’ NSFW slip-up.

It is not everyday that you can watch someone break the all-time scoring record while also letting an F-bomb get past the nationally televised crew. The FCC is not going to be happy about this one but one thing is for certain, NBA Twitter found it extremely amusing.

This instantly became the most meme-able NBA moment of the week and as always, NBA Twitter did not fail to deliver. Nothing is better than a good old ‘Hot Ones’ meme, and of course, there is an NSFW warning with these tweets.

It was not that long ago that LeBron James had another memorable moment that was caught by the TV cameras and fans in attendance. James’ meltdown after a missed call against the Boston Celtics gave NBA Twitter the perfect clip to encompass how the TNT is feeling right now.

And of course, whenever there is a viral LeBron James moment there is a wild Skip Bayless lurking around the corner. The fact that the Lakers did not win the game against the Thunder, and that LeBron had a NSFW slip-up, is going to give Bayless plenty to work with on Wednesday morning.

LeBron has had a squeaky-clean resume throughout his entire career and has been the best role model athlete in the entire country over the last two years.

After having two decades of clean behavior, and after breaking the NBA’s all-time scoring record, we should all be okay with giving LeBron James this one slip-up — even if it creates an uncomfortable meeting for the TNT executives.
