Dillon Brooks was arguably the biggest loser of the 2023 NBA Playoffs. After gaining a reputation for being a pest, Brooks did his best Lance Stephenson impression and tried to get in LeBron James’ head. It did not work as the Los Angeles Lakers made quick work of the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round.

This tarnished Brooks’ relationship with the team to the point that he was not going to be brought back under any circumstance. Not only did he poke the bear in the playoffs but he couldn’t back it up. He was legitimately the worst player in that entire series.

Despite that, the Houston Rockets still decided that they wanted to give him a four-year, $80 million contract. That has seemingly given Brooks more confidence again, as he has not learned his lesson and is once again running his mouth toward LeBron and the Lakers.

In an interview with SportsNet, Brooks explained his delusional point of view on how the playoff series vs the Lakers really went.

"“I felt like I always had him (LeBron). I feel like that series was thrown upon me cause of the words that I say. But I’ve been saying things all year, and we won 50 games.”"

He felt like he always had LeBron… right. LeBron averaged 22.2 points, 11.2 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game in that series. Sure, it was not vintage LeBron numbers, but he did what the Lakers needed him to do. Brooks, on the other hand, averaged 10.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists and shot 31.2% from the field (23.8% from three) in the series.

When do the Lakers first play Dillon Brooks and the Rockets?

Every game against the Rockets is going to be a must-see for Lakers fans as they are going to want to see Brooks get embarrassed again. The first time that the Lakers are scheduled to face the Rockets is on November 8 and it will be played in Houston.

Don’t worry, Lakers fans do not have to wait long to boo Brooks out fo the building. The Rockets will be in Los Angeles to take on the Lakers on November 19 and December 2. When those dates roll around, Brooks will not be able to hide from the comments he has made about James.
