LeBron James, Anthony Davis remain on injury report for Lakers-Kings game

LeBron James returned to the Los Angeles Lakers' lineup on Sunday against the Memphis Grizzlies. LA ended up earning a 116-110 victory over the Grizzlies in James' return. However, LeBron and Anthony Davis were listed on the NBA injury report before the contest, something that has not changed ahead of Thursday's game against the Sacramento Kings, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

Davis is listed as probable due to left plantar fasciitis, an issue that has seemingly been bothering the Lakers star over the past couple of games. Yet, he has continued to play. LeBron, meanwhile, is listed on the injury report with left foot injury management.

James did not play in two games last week before returning on Sunday. The Lakers are continuing to closely monitor his status. At almost 40 years old, the team's best option is unquestionably to proceed with caution with LeBron.

Davis will likely play barring unforeseen circumstances. He has been listed as probable in recent action but has still been able to play. For LeBron, he has had a few days to rest with the Lakers not playing since Sunday, something that could factor into the team's final decision before Thursday's tip-off.

Davis played at an elite level on Sunday. The Lakers star finished the game with 40 points, 16 rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block. He made a massive impact on both ends of the floor, leading Los Angeles to a much-needed win.

James added 18 points, eight assists, eight rebounds, one steal and two blocks in the victory. LeBron reminded the NBA world that he is still more than capable of helping the Lakers in multiple facets of the game.

Lakers and Kings preparing to play on Thursday

The 14-12 Lakers and 13-14 Kings will play on Thursday night. The 2024-25 season has not gone according to plan for either team, but LA could get closer to a hot streak with another win. The Kings have certainly not played up to their expectations and they could unquestionably use a big victory at home.

Following Thursday's game, the Lakers and Kings will play once again in Sacramento on Saturday. The Lakers are hoping to win at least one of the two games on the road, of course, their primary goal is to take care of business in both of the contests.

Thursday night's tip-off is scheduled for 10 PM EST in Sacramento.
