1. Small forward depth
The Lakers had no depth last season behind Metta World Peace at the small forward position. The time was spent between Kobe Bryant and Earl Clark, neither who naturally play the small forward. We saw the toll it took on Bryant’s body and Clark is more suited for the four.
Both Solomon Hill and Carrick Felix fit the mold for the Lakers. Hill is a more physical presence who can shoot from deep and finish decently in the paint. He is a solid defensive option and has good size. Carrick Felix is more of a tweener between SF and SG, and that’s not a bad thing considering we have holes in both spots. He has the size and defensive skills to compete with the small forwards in the league and wouldn’t have too many responsibilities .
Felix and Hill should probably be options 1A and 1B for the Lakers. They are both young, energetic, and fill weaknesses for the Lakers.
