Los Angeles Lakers: Three reasons to be excited for Summer League
By Matt Leaman
Brandon Ingram looks to improve from his rookie season:
Will Ingram take a big leap to becoming a NBA superstar this season? It all begins tonight after an offseason where he dedicated himself to improving and reportedly working out with Kobe Bryant. Ingram, 19, will look to have a break out season with Lonzo Ball helping him along the way.
A few things to look for will be if Ingram has improved his overall shooting, and three-point shot. It’s been reported that he’s been working endlessly with coaches to improve his shooting form. Last season, in 79 games played, he shot 40.2% overall, and just 29.4% from triple range. It would be a great sign to see those numbers way up during his time in the summer league this season.
Look for Ingram to use his length and size to dominate players in the few games he plays this summer. At 6’9″, most opponents will have a tough time slowing him down in all likelihood. This will be a good barometer of the improvement Ingram has made this summer, and will get Lakers fans even more excited for the upcoming season. With added confidence to his game, who knows what this guy will be capable of.
