Part of the Los Angeles Lakers All-Time team in NBA 2K18 has been released; who made the first cut?
The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the greatest franchises not only in the NBA but in all of sports in general. They have been very successful, as they have won 16 championships. To win that many championships, you need to have great players on your team.
The Lakers have had no shortage of those. There have been numerous Hall of Fame players to don the purple and gold throughout the franchise’s existence. Something many fans would like to see is some of those Hall of Famers on the court together.
For example, would it not be amazing to see someone such as Magic Johnson at point guard with Shaquille O’Neal on the post. Or Johnson in the same backcourt as Kobe Bryant? Maybe Jerry West running the show with O’Neal or Pau Gasol on the block. Now, those combinations are something that can become somewhat of a reality.

Recently, it was announced that NBA 2K18 will feature an All-Time team for everyone franchise. That means the greatest players to ever suit up for each team would be playable on the same roster. We have seen NBA 2K with legendary teams, such as the 1992 Dream Team or the 1996 Chicago Bulls, but not players from different eras on the same team.
This is something that plenty of fans can get excited about. They will be able to play with their favorite players no matter which year they were on the team for.
For the Lakers, there are plenty of options for who could be on the roster. We now have a sneak peek at who will be suiting up for the Lakers on their All-Time team.
The official NBA 2K Twitter account has been sharing player’s overalls for this year’s game throughout the offseason. Today, they shared the first look at who will be on the Lakers roster for the All-Time team.
Judging from the picture, we know that Magic Johnson, James Worthy, Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain and Pau Gasol. They will more than likely be joined by 5-7 more players, as the roster should have at least 12 players.
From the release, the biggest surprise is not seeing Jerry West. One of the greatest point guards in the history of the NBA, the logo himself, has yet to be named to the roster.
Seeing Pau Gasol on there is a bit of a surprise as well. There is no denying the talent Gasol has; he is a likely Hall of Famer. However, there are other players that are surprising to not see in the front court, such as Elgin Baylor.
