The Los Angeles Lakers host the Los Angeles Clipper at the STAPLES Center on October 19th, 2017. Here is all the information you need to watch the game.
The Los Angeles Lakers begin the 2017-18 season tonight. They will be hosting their STAPLES Center co-tenants tonight, as their home opener is against the Los Angeles Clippers. Both teams will be looking to get the season off on the right foot with a victory in the first game of the season.
For Lakers fans, this is a night they have been waiting months for. It is the debut of top prospect and face of the franchise, Lonzo Ball. The hyped UCLA product will be making his regular season debut, and all eyes will be on him.
He is not the only rookie worth watching for the Lakers. Power forward Kyle Kuzma has turned heads all offseason, playing well in the Las Vegas Summer League and preseason. Could we see Kuzma break into the starting lineup tonight?

Projected starting shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will serve the first game of a two-game suspension tonight. The lineup will have to be adjusted with Caldwell-Pope out, so Kuzma could find his way into the starting lineup depending on what Luke Walton wants to do.
Just like tonight is the beginning of a new era for the Lakers, the same can be said for the Clippers. The Clippers are now Blake Griffin’s team, as he re-signed with the organization in the offseason. While he was retained, Chris Paul was traded to the Houston Rockets, ending an era for the Clippers.
The Clippers have plenty of new faces on the roster heading into this season. Patrick Beverley and Lou Williams were acquired in the Paul trade, while Danilo Gallinari was signed in free agency. While losing Paul is a big blow, there is an argument that can be made that the Clippers are actually improved overall for this season.
