The Los Angeles Lakers got their road trip off on the right foot Thursday night and exacted some revenge in the process. The Lakers defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 107-104. It was the second and final time of the season the teams will face each other, with each winning on the other’s home court.
The victory tonight was a much needed one for Los Angeles. They snapped their five-game losing streak and have some momentum building for the make-or-break portion of their schedule.
Tonight the Lakers got contributions from everyone to knock off a talented 76ers team. Brandon Ingram will be featured in all the highlight reels as he made the game-winning shot. Ingram knocked down a three-pointer with 0.8 seconds remaining off a pass from Lonzo Ball to get the Lakers a victory.
Ingram led the way with 21 points, adding seven rebounds, two assists and two steals. He is really coming into his own in his second season in the NBA.

The second leading scorers for the Lakers came off the bench. Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson each scored 16 points and provided sparks throughout the evening. Clarkson carried the team in the third quarter with multiple impressive baskets. It was Randle who did the damage late in the game.
Randle and Embiid engaged in a heated matchup and both performed. Randle scored four baskets in a row at one point in the fourth quarter for the Lakers, keeping pace with the talented Embiid. Randle provided strong defense and provided a much-needed scoring punch.
Lonzo Ball also had a very productive game. He stuffed the stat sheet, scoring 13 points with eight rebounds and eight assists. His most important stat offensively was the zero turnovers committed as he played a great game offensively.
On defense, he was just as impressive. He racked up some defensive stats, blocking four shots and recording three steals.
The whole starting five for the Lakers scored in double figures along with Randle and Clarkson off the bench.
The 76ers had six players of their own score in double-figures, with Embiid leading the way with 33. Ben Simmons recorded a triple-double as well, scoring 12 points with 13 rebounds and 15 assists.

With the victory, the Lakers improved their record to 9-15 overall and 3-8 on the road. Their road trip will continue Saturday night with a visit to the Charlotte Hornets.
