The Los Angeles Lakers return home to host the Indiana Pacers on Thursday night.

Things have not gone well for the Los Angeles Lakers recently. The Lakers are riding a two-game losing streak, as they were defeated by the Orlando Magic over the weekend and Denver Nuggets in their last game.

Both games saw lackluster performances by Los Angeles. The Magic game was a replica of the first meeting between the two teams, as the Lakers started off strong before being smoked in the middle two quarters with a late comeback falling short.

The Nuggets never allowed the Lakers to even attempt a comeback, as they never trailed in the game and set a franchise record for margin of victory against the Lakers.

Tonight, the Lakers will look to snap that losing streak as they host the Indiana Pacers at the Staples Center. Los Angeles will look to avoid their first three-game losing streak since beginning the season 0-3.

There is some injury news for both teams heading into the game tonight. Lonzo Ball is listed as questionable after he suffered an ankle injury against the Nuggets. If he is unable to go, the Lakers will have no point guards, putting the onus on Brandon Ingram and LeBron James to run the offense.

The Lakers will be catching a big break, however, as Victor Oladipo is doubtful to play tonight. He has missed the last five games with a knee injury after playing only five minutes against the Atlanta Hawks on Nov. 17.

The Pacers have actually succeeded without their best player, going 3-2 thus far. The Lakers cannot take this team lightly despite Oladipo more than likely being sidelined.

Doug McDermott is one of the players who has stepped up in Oladipo’s absence, as he is averaging 13.8 points per game over his last five, which includes a game with zero points. Domantas Sabonis has also played well, averaging 17.4 points, 11.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists over his last five games.

Indiana is in the midst of a four-game road trip, which they have begun 2-0. Will they continue their winning streak, or will the Lakers snap their losing streak? You will have to tune in later tonight to find out!

This matchup pits a team that excels at covering spreads on the road against a team that struggles to cover spreads anywhere, let alone at home. That is the case with LeBron James-led teams, as the public hammers them with money even when they may not necessarily deserve it. Indiana comes in with a 7-5 overall record on the road with a 6-5 ATS record. Los Angeles is 6-4 at home, but an underwhelming 3-7-1 ATS.
