The Los Angeles Lakers perspective

The Lakers would finally land the superstar they covet to play with LeBron James after missing out on a trade for Paul George and Kawhi Leonard over the last 18 months.

With LeBron James and Anthony Davis, you would have a 1-2 punch that would be almost impossible to deal with on a nightly basis. Both Davis and LeBron are two of the most unstoppable superstars in the NBA.

With Anthony Davis, you have someone that is going to dominate in the post both on offense and defense, he can score from anywhere on the floor and with LeBron James on the floor, you have a player who can destroy you any way he wants.

Try and stop LeBron James in transition and you will see how even in his mid-thirties he is still a top-5 player. You can’t throw double teams at him all the time otherwise he is going to kick it out to Davis who is either going to punish you from the inside or out.

This trade also prepares the Lakers for when LeBron decides to retire. With Davis you have someone at the peak of his powers and who will be able to get other free agents to join him.

The trade also allows for the Lakers to be able to add a third superstar via free agency as moving these guys frees up the necessary cap space. Add someone like Jimmy Butler or Kyrie Irving and the Lakers become a major threat to the Golden State Warriors in the west.

The Lakers also get to hold onto Lonzo Ball, who alongside the likes of LeBron James, Anthony Davis and say, Jimmy Butler, would be an elite playmaker and defender.
