LaVar Ball said the Lakers was Lonzo Ball’s team…like AFTER LeBron James was signed

Whether you like LaVar Ball or not, the one thing he does not lack for is confidence and total belief in his convictions. For me, I have respect for anyone that has the heart to speak his truth. As much as Lakers fans were all over Lonzo Ball at times about his production during his tenure with the Lakers, the fact remains LaVar Ball got him in a Lakers uniform.

Usually when a writer starts at a website, he/she needs a constant angle for future pieces. I just knew LaVar Ball would provide plenty of content after he had the audacity to say that the Lakers was Lonzo’s team last offseason. When he compared the late Tupac Shakur to Lonzo, I fell out laughing. But when he stated that LeBron James, fresh off a $154 million dollar contract was taking a backseat, you knew this was going to be a great year to write.

This was stated after saying he could beat Michael Jordan one on one (The basketball player not the actor!). Okay I’ll tell you guys the truth…I can beat Jordan too!

But the alarm clock went off and I woke up. But LaVar disappeared for a while. But he was back just in time to repeat Lonzo’s worth to the Lakers just before the trade deadline. NONE of the Lakers will be successful without Lonzo Ball…

Yes that includes LeBron James…

Now was a lot of the things that LaVar Ball said (Okay skip the LeBron James part) that was true. Sure, Luke Walton got fired, the locker room was a mess and the young players were playing better with Lonzo on the floor.

BUT…

LaVar was burning bridges on every show he was on that day. There are reasons why NBA “insiders” get paid the amount of money they do. Trust. They understand that some things that they may know must never get out. LaVar Ball was airing out dirty laundry and was a loose cannon. The NBA is a multi billion dollar business. No matter how big you think you are, there’s always someone bigger and more powerful. When the news broke about the trade, the timing surprised many.

Let’s see how LaVar took the news shall we…
