Los Angeles Lakers announce 2019 Las Vegas Summer League schedule
The Los Angeles Lakers are going to be playing in the Las Vegas Summer League again and their schedule for the event was recently released.
The Los Angeles Lakers youngsters are going to be busy this summer. It was announced a few weeks ago that the team would be partaking in the second annual California Classic.
In that league, the Lakers will be playing a total of three games against the Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors and Miami Heat. After that, they will be heading to Las Vegas to take part in the Las Vegas Summer League.
The Las Vegas Summer League has turned into quite a big event in recent years. Last year was the first time that all 30 NBA teams were represented there. This year, all 30 teams will be taking part in addition to the Chinese and Croatian national teams.
The Lakers first four games of the Las Vegas Summer League were recently announced.
"July 5 | @ Chicago Bulls | 4:30 p.m.July 6 | vs. Los Angeles Clippers | 4:30 p.m.July 8 | vs. Golden State Warriors | 8:30 p.m.July 10 | @ New York Knicks | 6:30 p.m."
Depending on how they do in those games, they will play at least one more, as every team will play at least five games. If you advance in the next stage, you can play as many as seven games.

This will be the first time that we get to see the 2019 draft picks in action. For the Lakers, that means it will be the second time we see Talen Horton-Tucker, whom they selected with the No. 46 overall pick acquired from the Orlando Magic, wearing the purple and gold.
With the current state of the roster, it is anyone’s guess who will be joining him there. Moritz Wagner and Isaac Bonga, two of the team’s draft picks from the 2018 NBA Draft, are expected to partake in the California Class, so they should also play in Las Vegas, but it is anyone’s guess if they will still be on the roster.
Los Angeles is currently working hard to clear enough cap space to have a max salary slot available this summer, so trading Wagner or Bonga could be one path to acquiring that space.
Some players we could see playing alongside them are Zach Norvell Jr., Davontae Cacok, Jordan Caroline and Aric Holman. All four players were signed after going undrafted on Thursday during the 2019 NBA Draft. Norvell was signed to a two-way deal, while Cacok was signed to an Exhibit 10 deal.
Whoever takes the court for the Lakers will have some expectations to live up to. Los Angeles has had some great showings in the last two years in Las Vegas.
In 2017, they won the championship with Kyle Kuzma taking home the MVP award in the title game and Lonzo Ball winning the overall MVP award. In 2018, they lost to the Portland Trail Blazers in the title game, but Josh Hart took home the league MVP award.
