Recent Los Angeles Lakers rumors involve Andre Iguodala, who could end up with the Lakers after being traded by the Golden State Warriors.
Lake Show Life interrupts the million Lakers rumors that have Kawhi Leonard signing with the Los Angeles Lakers.
It got so bad that Twitter had its own #KawhitoLA hashtag that was trending. I mean I felt so alone not having a source like “Kawhi Leonard is coming to LA because my source asked his limo driver, who knows his mechanic, who knows the technician that came in to fix is water heater in Toronto back in January”.
Let’s talk about Lakers rumors that matter. Until Kawhi Leonard has his meeting in Toronto to talk to the Raptors front office, nobody knows. With Leonard going through the steps to make a decision, the Lakers did nothing on the free agent front on day one.
But boy was there a lot of movement around the NBA. One particular trade late Sunday night shocked many.
With the Kevin Durant era ending at Golden State, the Warriors wasted no time in making adjustments. But pay close attention to the amount of money that the Warriors gave D’Angelo Russell in his max deal.
Golden State had to make another deal to clear up salary cap space to even make the deal work. Now, this is the deal that made even bigger waves.
One reason was the timing (It was around midnight) and two, who was involved in the deal.
Two things I can say about this situation that you can take to the bank. One, I can flat guarantee you that Andre Iguodala will never put on a Memphis uniform.
Since moving to the West Coast, Andre has set up many business ventures in Silicon Valley. The man is very intelligent and is the perfect example of the adage of “Playing basketball is what he does and not who he is”. Currently, he is out on a book tour promoting his book “The Sixth Man”. In short, the man has a lot on his plate.
Number two, when the Memphis Grizzlies and Iguodala’s reps work out a buyout agreement of the $17.1 million dollars left on the last year of his contract, expect him in a Lakers uniform if he does not retire.
The Los Angeles Lakers and Andre Iguodala are a match made in heaven based on the current circumstances.
The Lakers need veterans that can fill out the roster on a minimum wage deal and Andre presumably wants to stay in California. Even more encouraging is that Rob Pelinka can close this deal with ease considering that he was Iguodala’s former agent.
Stephen A. Smith weighed in on the situation on his radio show.

It seems that the stars are starting to align for the Los Angeles Lakers. Lake Show Life has laid out in-depth pieces on the type of players needed to fill out the bench if Kawhi Leonard does sign with the team. From the guard position, to the wings, to the potential big men in the middle, the Lakers have a list that fits their veteran’s minimum budget.
I’m sure that no one in the NBA thought that a player like Iguodala, who is a 3-time NBA champion, a 2015 Finals MVP based on his performance slowing down LeBron James and a guy that is capable of knocking down huge shots in big moments would be available.
I mean you did watch the NBA Finals a few weeks ago, right?

As bad as things were when Magic Johnson stepped down back in April, the Lakers can seriously make a run for a championship with Leonard in the fold and this guy providing leadership in the locker room.
Frank Vogel and Lionel Hollins will love this guy on the roster. The one thing Andre Iguodala brings to this franchise is professionalism and credibility that commands respect.
He is walking in with five straight Finals appearances that will bode well come playoff time. Plus the man can play lockdown defense.

In the closeout game the Warriors played against the Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference Finals, it was Iguodala who came up with the big defensive play.
The Lakers have now been blessed with a player vital to a potential championship team, who does not mind coming off the bench.
To put this in perspective, Andre Iguodala was a career starter and was always one of the main options in Philadelphia and Denver. Steve Kerr convinced him to take the sixth man role when the Warriors started their dynasty. Then in the NBA Finals, Iguodala was ready when he was inserted into the starting lineup.
This is the sacrifice that the Lakers roster will have to employ if they want to go deep in the playoffs. Andre Iguodala can be that example during the season the Lakers need.
He is the perfect liaison that can relate and provide stability to the guys on the end of the bench while having the respect of the superstars on the team in LeBron James, Anthony Davis and potentially Kawhi Leonard. That element could decide if this team bonds as well as the Warriors for the last five years, or collapse like the Lakers had in 2004.
Lake Show Life will be on top of the free agency bonanza over the next coming weeks as they chase Kawhi Leonard and fill out the roster. Keep it locked for further updates.
