Los Angeles Lakers post free agency starting lineup prediction
Shooting Guard: Danny Green
While missing out on Kawhi Leonard in free agency was a hammer blow to the Lakers, it did lead to them finally adding a quality wing defender beside LeBron in Danny Green.
It is hard to quantify in statistics how good of a shooting guard Danny Green truly is, but his ability to lock down opposing wings over the last number of seasons shows how important of a piece Danny Green really is.
With Green’s ability to play both small forward and shooting guard, he offers valuable versatility in being able to guard numerous positions when called upon. This can be very important for the Lakers as LeBron James has been known to switch off on defense during the regular season choosing to save his energy for the playoffs.
Green’s ability to consistently shoot from three will also be critical. With both LeBron and Anthony Davis on the roster, they will require a double team depending on who has the ball. Surrounding these superstars with 3-point shooters will allow for better floor spacing and in turn, give AD and LeBron more room to work with.
