The Los Angeles Lakers will see a lot of Dwyane Wade this season as he plans to work out often with LeBron James prior to games.

There has been a lot of chatter about the Los Angeles Lakers signing one of LeBron James‘ best friends in Carmelo Anthony. Anthony is still holding out hope that he will get a contract and won’t be forced out of the league.

Anthony is hoping to get a send-off similar to what fellow Banana Boat member, Dwyane Wade, received last season. Wade did jersey swaps almost every night and received standing ovations at almost every arena.

If you thought when the Miami Heat visited Staples Center last year it was the last time Wade would be seen at Staples Center on the court, you would be wrong. Get ready to see him often throughout the season.

Since retiring, Wade now lives in suburban Los Angeles. His son, Zaire Wade, is playing basketball at Sierra Canyon High School. James’ son, Bronny James, will also be playing at Sierra Canyon. While their fathers won’t be playing games together, they will be on the court a lot together this upcoming season.

While talking to the Los Angeles Times, Wade revealed that he plans on working out with James prior to Lakers games this season. The two will workout together both at the Staples Center and at the Lakers’ training facility.

"“You’re definitely going to see me out there,” Wade said. “I’ll be there early to work out with LeBron before the game starts. I just want to stay around it and be as involved as I can.”"

Wade also told the newspaper that he has a great relationship with all of the players in the league. In addition to his planned workouts with his former teammate, he has also worked out with Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers and former Lakers shooting guard Josh Hart, who was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans as part of the Anthony Davis trade package.

Could this all be in preparation for a comeback for Wade? Returning to the NBA isn’t in his plans currently, but he didn’t completely shut the door on a return.

"“I’m done, but my trainer is going to keep me in shape just in case something happens,” Wade said while smiling, according to the Times. “I’m going to stay in shape because you never know. Never say never.”"

If Wade wants to come back, you know there will be plenty of rumors about the Lakers being a landing spot because of his relationship with James.

Los Angeles’ roster is currently full, but a spot could open up depending on what the team does with DeMarcus Cousins. Andre Iguodala is who the team has had their eyes on, but if Wade gets truly interested in a comeback, the Lakers could come calling.
