Dwyane Wade is impressed by the roster that the Los Angeles Lakers have put together heading into the 2019-20 season.

It has been a while since the Los Angeles Lakers have had some success on the court. The Lakers have missed the playoffs for six straight years, the longest drought in franchise history.

People believed that that streak would end this past season, as LeBron James was signed in free agency. Things did not go according to plan, so the front office reloaded this offseason.

Now, James has an all-world running mate in Anthony Davis. In addition to Davis, the team also added steady veterans such as Danny Green, Avery Bradley and Jared Dudley. There is depth across the board and people have taken notice as the Lakers are one of the favorites to not only win the Western Conference but take home the NBA title as well. One of those people is the recently retired, Dwyane Wade.

Wade was recently linked to the Lakers when he discussed his plans for the upcoming season. While a comeback isn’t yet in the works, Wade will remain ready as he plans to workout with LeBron James prior to games at the team’s facility.

Wade will get a first-hand look at the Lakers, but he is already impressed by the roster that has been put together.

"“The talent and the roster is great top to bottom,” Wade told Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson of Heavy. “It’s just going to take some time to get it together and get the continuity together.”"

Wade knows a thing or two about developing chemistry when there is a lot of roster turnover. He had to adjust his game with James and Chris Bosh joined the Miami Heat.

It was rocky at the start, as the Big 3 had to adjust to playing alongside multiple All-Stars. However, it worked out in the end as they won two championships during their tenure together.

Wade believes that the Lakers will be a very good team based on the veteran leadership the team has in guys such as James and Rajon Rondo.

"“If they get it together, obviously they’re going to be a very good team. LeBron, [Rajon] Rondo and those guys, their veteran leadership is going to try and get that continuity together early on and try to get it together and going fast.”"

The Lakers will be working from a clean slate during the 2019-20 season. Not only is the roster revamped, but the coaching staff is also. Frank Vogel will replace Luke Walton as head coach and he has a strong staff around him with Jason Kidd, Lionel Hollins, Phil Handy, Miles Simon, Mike Penberthy and Quinton Crawford.

Everyone will take some time to get on the same page. It is natural when so many new faces are around.

But, with James and Anthony Davis in place, the Lakers are starting from a great spot. With two All-Stars and solid role players surrounding them, they should be able to rack up some wins even while working through the growing pains.
