For the Los Angeles Lakers fans who are already eagerly awaiting the upcoming 2025-26 NBA season, Jovan Buha broke the news on Twitter/X today when the team will have their home portion of the preseason schedule. The press release from the Lakers included their four fixtures as the hosts.

The Lakers' first home game of the preseason will feature the team hosting the Phoenix Suns at Acrisure Arena in Greater Palm Springs on Oct. 3. Their first game at Crypto.com Arena will be Oct. 12 when they take on the Golden State Warriors. It will be the first of two matchups at the team's usual arena.

The Lakers will also travel to Las Vegas to host a 'home' game. They will be the designated home team against the Dallas Mavericks for a matchup at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Oct. 15.

Lakers' preseason will offer some initial answers to key questions

With a pivotal offseason ahead of the team, October will offer Lakers fans their first opportunity to see how Rob Pelinka patches up the holes on the roster in Los Angeles.

The Lakers will need to address several key issues this summer, including: the center position, perimeter defense, shooting, depth, and more. There is plenty of work to be done.

The question of whether LeBron James is still with the Lakers come October is obviously another massive point of fascination for this offseason. The 21-time All-Star has a player option for the upcoming 2025-26 season, with most believing it will be exercised.

The sustained quality of the 40-year-old superstar will be a big point of interest as he aims to support a revitalized Luka Doncic in his question for a championship with the Lakers. 2025-26 will offer another opportunity, hopefully, for Doncic to learn from the all-time great.

A lot of questions will need to wait until the regular season, and even the playoffs in the cases of some, to have a true answer. However, for the topics that need a larger sample size, the first hints will surely be dropped in the preseason.
