Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant inspired the newest pair of Kyrie Irving’s signature shoes.

Kobe Bryant has seen his name pop up quite a bit this offseason. Bryant retired from the NBA following the 2015-16 season, but that has not kept him from popping up in some headlines since.

Bryant has been enjoying his time away from basketball. He admitted that he hasn’t been watching much basketball, but he has been keeping busy other ways. One way has been through as a screenwriter and executive producer.  He has also made his own series short films as well.

While he isn’t watching basketball, he has not stopped playing. He has been holding workouts for a number of players, such as Russell Westbrook and Kyrie Irving. The Los Angeles Lakers have also expressed hope that Bryant would work with Brandon Ingram.

More recently, Bryant was in the news for his social media posts. Earlier in August, Bryant posted a photo on Instagram making fun of himself. Byrant has gained some weight since he is no longer an NBA player, using captions such as #MambaThick in his post. Bryant said to give him 30 days in the post as well.

That post was only up for three minutes before it was deleted. Bryant than posted a photo of just a black screen with Mamba Mode #Blackout.

It will be interesting to see what Bryant has in store for everyone in 30 days. Bryant will probably be even more motivated after Robin Lundberg called Bryant one of the most overrated players in NBA history.

It was something that fans wanted no part of, as a majority of people disagreed with Lundberg, saying he was out of his mind.

One thing that Lundberg and the people that disagreed with him can agree on is that Bryant makes some great shoes. Bryant’s Nike line is one of the best selling basketball shoes every season despite him not playing anymore.

Lonzo Ball caused quite a scene when he wore a pair of purple Nike Kobe AD’s in the Las Vegas Summer League instead of his Big Baller Brand shoes. Bryant is someone that many players look up to, and the amount of people who wear his shoes shows that. One player that looks up to Bryant is Irving.

Irving has his own line of shoes with Nike. However, his latest pair of shoes has been inspired by Byrant himself. Here is Irving showcasing his new Kyrie 3 Bruce Lee shoes.

Bryant had his own pair of Bruce Lee inspired shoes with the Zoom Kobe 5. Irving also mentioned how he was honored and how much of a blessing it was to have Bryant as a close friend and mentor.
