When’s the last time Los Angeles Lakers fans have been happy as a fan base? How about the actual players?
Even though Los Angeles Lakers fans knew the team was in rebuilding mode and at the beginning of last season there was a lot of hope, but fans started lashing out at coach Walton once again, they were not happy. Fans did not have the patience that Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka thought they had.
This was most evident when Magic mentioned that he would step down if he did not land a superstar free agent in a few years. Did he know he was about to land LeBron James? He says no, he was confident in himself to land one. Johnson’s statement surprised Jeanie Buss, but we’ve moved past all that. LeBron is in Los Angeles, and so remains Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Josh Hart, and Ivica Zubac. The young core.
Add to the young core a handful of NBA veterans in JaVale McGee, Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson, Kentavious Caldwell Pope, and Michael Beasley, several with NBA Championship rings, and you have a soup of ingredients that could become a playoff team. But why?
BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL HAPPY!!! You cannot wipe the smile off their faces. I love it! Stephenson posts an Instagram story where he is brushing his hair and singing in the Lakers locker room! Classic.
